Harlem Group To Receive $750,000 Grant from UMEZ

The Caribbean Culture Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI) is slated to receive grant funding of $750,000 over the next three years from the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone for capacity building as the organization works towards their move to a new home in a renovated firehouse located at 120 East 125 Street in Harlem.

Marcus Mosiah Garvey, Jr., ONH (17 August 1887 – 10 June 1940), was a Jamaican political leader, publisher, journalist, entrepreneur, and orator who was a staunch proponent of the Black nationalism and Pan-Africanism movements, to which end he founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League (UNIA-ACL).
