Baby It’s Cold Outside, The First Snow Of 2020 In Forecast

January 2, 2020

The first snow of 2020 is set to hit the city this weekend. Forecasters are predicting heavy rain will turn to snow Sunday.

The snow comes after an unseasonably warm New Year which saw Times Square revelers enjoy temperatures that reached into the 40s.

The National Weather Service predicts rain will start falling early Saturday and continue all day. As much as an inch of water is expected before it turns into snow between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday, forecasters said to Patch.

The service doesn’t say how much snow is expected, but it doesn’t expect a lot of accumulation. Temperatures will then dip below freezing Sunday night.
