Zendaya, Queen Latifa, Michelle Obama, And More Flock To See Tony Award Winning Best Musical ” A Strange Loop”

Luminaries are converging on Broadway to see Michael R. Jackson’s A STRANGE LOOP.

The hit show which recently won Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical at the Tony Awards. Zendaya, Michelle Obama, Steven Spielberg, Whoopi Goldberg, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Holliday, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jesse Williams, Queen Latifah, Questlove, Anna Wintour, Cynthia Erivo, Lena Waithe, Julianne Moore, Trevor Noah, Cynthia Nixon, Bernadette Peters, Gayle King and Amber Ruffin are among the celebrities who have come out for the show that is breaking new ground for Black and LGBTQ+ representation on Broadway. A new video shows celebrity support for the groundbreaking show.

Jennifer Hudson recently became an EGOT (Emmy Award, Grammy Award, Oscar and Tony Award-winning artist) when the show won Best Musical at the 2022 Tony Awards; she serves as a producer for the show along with celebrities and notables Billy Porter, Don Cheadle and Bridgid Coulter Cheadle, Mindy Kaling, RuPaul Charles, Alan Cumming, Paul Oakley Stovall, Meena Harris, Debra Martin Chase and Ilana Glazer.

“Phenomenal. One of the funniest and most poignant shows I’ve ever seen,” said Noah, host of THE DAILY SHOW, who has seen the show multiple times.

Winner of the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, A STRANGE LOOP opened to critical acclaim at the Lyceum Theater (149 W 45th St) on April 26. The musical is directed by Tony Award nominee Stephen Brackett, choreographed by Raja Feather Kelly, and produced by Barbara Whitman, along with Page 73 Productions, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and Playwrights Horizons.

The Broadway cast of A STRANGE LOOP features Tony Award nominee Jaquel Spivey, in his Broadway debut, as Usher. He is joined by Antwayn Hopper (Thought 6), Tony Award nominee L Morgan Lee (Thought 1), John-Michael Lyles (Thought 3), James Jackson, Jr. (Thought 2), Tony Award nominee John-Andrew Morrison (Thought 4), and Jason Veasey (Thought 5), with Edwin Bates, Kyle Ramar Freeman, Zachary Myers, Jon-Michael Reese and Mars Rucker.

Michael R. Jackson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning, blisteringly funny masterwork exposes the heart and soul of a young artist grappling with desires, identity, and instincts he both loves and loathes.
