NY Daily News reports 23-year-old woman who had a miscarriage dumped her unborn child in a garbage can on a Harlem sidewalk then told nurses where she discarded the fetus after checking into a hospital, police sources said Friday.
Bellevue Hospital staff called police after learning that the mother, who was not immediately identified, left the fetus near Amsterdam Ave. near W. 131st St. around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, according to authorities.
Cops canvassed the block only to make a bleak discovery — an unborn child tossed in the trash, police said.
