Representative Adriano Espaillat and the Dr. Ramon Tallaj Foundation released the following statement on their joint efforts to secure the delivery of 15,000 rapid response Coronavirus IgG/IgM Antibody (COVID-19) test kits to the Dominican Republic.
“While we continue to battle the months-long battle against the coronavirus here in the United States, it is crucial that we do not turn our backs on our partners around the world who are also grappling with the deadly virus,” said Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13). “Unfortunately, COVID-19 has gained a foothold in Latin America, including in the Dominican Republic, and has had a disproportionate impact on the region. I will continue to lend my assistance as needed and commend the Dr. Ramon Tallaj Foundation, and all those who helped in actualizing this generous, life-saving donation. Together, we are making a difference and helping to save lives.”
Dr. Ramon Tallaj, Chairman of the Dr. Ramon Tallaj Foundation said: “The Foundation is grateful for the efforts and tireless support that Rep. Adriano Espaillat and others lent to the Foundation in providing the Foundation both the ability and logistical support in getting our donation of the rapid Coronavirus IgG/IgM Antibody tests to the people of the Dominican Republic. This collaborative approach of governmental agencies, healthcare professionals, and the private sector working together to combat this deadly virus is one to be embraced if we are to win this fight.”
