A statement by Uptown representative Ydanis Rodriguez regarding immigrants against deportation:
“I stand with Ravi Ragbir and all immigrants against deportation.
New York City is a sanctuary city and we will defend residents regardless of where they come from or their immigration status.
I am appalled by the recent article by Documented reporting that New York State court officers are informing Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) when immigrants arrive to the courthouse so that they are arrested. We must stop this practice and end these unlawful deportations in New York.”
