Uptown Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez’s Response To MTA Fare Increase

Today, the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) will be increasing their fares for riders.

The Chairman of the Transportation Committee and uptown Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez calls on those New Yorkers who qualify for Fair Fares to take advantage of the program. Qualifying New Yorkers are eligible for up to 50% discount on subway and eligible bus fares. Pay-per-Ride, weekly unlimited, and monthly unlimited options are also available for discount.

“With the fare increase, New Yorkers have to start seeing improvements in the overall quality of the Transit System. No more delays, riders have been asking for an improvement for years it is time they see one” – Transportation Committee Chair Ydanis Rodriguez

Fair increases:
  • 7-Day Unlimited Ride MetroCard: $32 to $33
  • 7-Day Express Bus Plus Unlimited Ride MetroCard: $59.50 to $62.00
  • 30-Day and Calendar Monthly Unlimited Ride MetroCard:$121 to $127
UniTicket and One-Way connecting fares:
  • Weekly UniTicket connecting fares for Hudson Rail Link:Increasing by 50¢
  • Monthly UniTicket connecting fares for Hudson Rail Link:Increasing by $1.50
  • Weekly UniTicket connecting fares for local NYC bus service (NYCT and MTA Bus): Increasing by $25.00
  • Monthly UniTicket connecting fares for local NYC bus service (NYCT and MTA Bus): Increasing by $2.00

Mañana, el 21 de Abril, la Autoridad de Tránsito Metropolitana (MTA) aumentará la tarifa para los pasajeros. El miembro del Consejo del Comité de Transporte, Ydanis Rodriguez, les dice a neoyorquinos que califican para Fair Fares que aprovechen el programa.
