The day long Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Festival Lecture Series 2015 founded by Carolyn Butts on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at Imagenations Raw Space in Harlem offered a good learning experience for everyone.

I viewed four excellent films, each exposing the rawness of the realities people have had to live, and those who were the ones who fought to bring change.
The actors, and directors were holding Q & A’s between the films. One of those was conversations was with Felipe Luciano, Co-founder, Young Lords Party and the with Harlem World Magazines arts and culture editor Dontre Conerly and Director, Karen Marks Mafundikwa.
