On May 1, 2023, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC was abuzz with excitement as celebrities, fashion designers, and other figures gathered for the annual Met Gala.
This year’s theme, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” promised to showcase the best of American fashion, and guests were eager to see what the evening had in store.
Vogue magazine said, Of course, the most memorable moment of the night was when Rihanna and A$AP Rocky finally arrived—a heavenly white Valentino look complete with a floral cocoon cape for her, and a Gucci look complete with a black blazer, kilt and bedazzled jeans for him. If the Met had a royal couple, it’s certainly them.
Rihanna, who has long been known for her fashion-forward sense of style, did not disappoint. She wore a stunning, custom-made gown by American designer Ralph Lauren, featuring intricate beading and a dramatic train. Her hair was styled in loose waves, and she accessorized with statement jewelry and a bold red lip.
A$AP Rocky, meanwhile, looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo, also by Ralph Lauren. He added a touch of personality to his look with a custom-made diamond necklace and matching diamond cufflinks.
The couple walked the red carpet hand-in-hand, pausing to pose for photos and chat with reporters. They were all smiles as they made their way into the gala, where they joined other guests to enjoy a night of fashion, music, and entertainment.
