It’s that time again! Central Park’s SummerStage is set to provide another summer of awesome music! The talent comes from all genres of music and from all over the world. Melanie Fiona, Esperanza Spalding, Rakim, Blitz, Hiromi and Stanley Clarke are just a few artists who have touched SummerStage over the last couple of years. Keep in mind; free concerts are performed at Central Park and at various parks around the City. While most of the programming is free, on occasion there are shows that come with a cost to help cover the expenses for the free shows.
To jumpstart this season, the City Parks Foundation (CPF) will have its annual SummerStage Gala concert held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the SummerStage (located at Rumsey Playfield 72nd Street, mid-park). This is going to be a great concert as the performing artists will be covering the music by the legendary Jimi Hendrix. Some of the artist scheduled to perform are Amel Larrieux, Bebel Gilberto, John Scofield, Living Colour, Wyclef and the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’s house band The Roots.
