It was a cold winter night on Saturday March 3rd, but Harlem was hot with the Fifth Annual Harlem Haberdashery 2018 Masquerade Ball “A Royal Ball in Harlem” benefiting #TakeCareofHarlem.
#TakeCareofHarlem is a non-profit organization that provides year-round philanthropic programs tackling hunger (#Feed500), arts education and access (#ArtLivesinHarlem) and youth driven programs (#CoolforSchool).
The event honored Man of the Year: Michael J. Garner, Chief Diversity Officer, Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and President, 100 Black Men, Women of the Year: Margarette Purvis, President & CEO, Food Bank for New York and Harlem Legacy 2018: Bevy Smith, Co-Host, Page Six TV. Roxie Digital, Radio 103.9 FM and WPLJ 95.5 on-air radio personality, hosted the extravaganza and DJ Olivia Dope kept the music on point. The event was sponsored by Crown Royal with media sponsorship by Page Six TV, New York Post and Radio 103.9FM.
Held in a huge space in The Riverside Church, A Royal Ball in Harlem brought out some of Harlem’s best dressed. Of course, the Harlem Haberdsahery team led the way. Sharene Wood, Guy Wood Sr. Kells Barnett and Louis Johnson, Jr were all impeccably dressed. Immediately upon entering the venue, guests were treated to some of Crown Royal’s best and after a quick stop at the photo booth it was time to party.
