RiteCheck, a leading provider of transaction-based financial services in Harlem and The Bronx, opened its first “fin-tech” store under the company’s newly launched Financial Service Center Modernization & Digitalization Program. The store located at 1264 Amsterdam Avenue, at W. 123rd Street, features a mix of tellers and automated kiosks to expedite services, as well as other digital technologies that are intended to improve access to information, secure consumer protection and transaction transparency. The facility that is open 24/7, also features a Loyalty Rewards Program, a free no-minimum balance savings account, and other initiatives intended to remove barriers that have historically prevented low and mid-income families from accessing basic financial services.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, September 15th. Leaders of the Financial Service Centers of New York (FSCNY), the organization that represents the interests of more than 500 financial service centers (formerly known as “check cashing stores”) in New York, were present, as well as local community leaders and residents.
