Resources For Economic Support For Small Businesses From Harlem To Hamilton Heights

April 23, 2020

Greetings from the Columbia-Harlem Small Business Development Center:

If you received Payroll Protection Program (“PPP”) funding from your bank, we have posted some initial guidance to help maintain records for loan forgiveness, click here to learn more.

Tomorrow, the NYS SBDC is co-sponsoring a webinar for businesses interested in getting their PPP and EIDL applications queued up now in preparation for the upcoming round of SBA funding.

Learn about how Betterfin is working with SBA 7(a) lenders to provide PPP to businesses whose banks are not participating, and their new ReadyRelief™ tool to assist small businesses in securing PPP and EIDL stimulus funds. Register for the webinar here.

On Monday, Council Member Levine is sponsoring: What You Need to Know: COVID-19 Insurance Claims and Commercial Leases for Small Businesses  The discussion will address how COVID-19 claims can be covered, the types of insurance policies that cover those claims, and best practices for policyholders.

Lawyers would also discuss the impact of COVID-19 on commercial leases including obligations to pay (or not pay) rent during the pandemic, provisions that may excuse non-performance, and conditions under which commercial leases may be terminated.  You must pre-register to attend this meeting here .

On Tuesday, our center is offering a webinar for single person businesses about Pandemic Unemployment Insurance  (“PUA”) which will be helpful for single-person business owners.
