One of New York’s most recognizable voices was honored in Harlem, NY. Legendary NYC born, City College graduate newsman Stan Brooks was laid to rest Friday.Hundreds filled into The Riverside Church Chapel on the Upper Manhattan in Harlem to remember the long time radio anchorman.
Brooks was a fixture on 1010 WINS for five decades, and led its transformation from playing rock records to the country’s first all-news radio station.
Brooks passed away at his Manhattan home on Dec. 23, 2013. He was 86 years young (source).
