article-2322982-19B9AD79000005DC-146_634x410The judgement in the first round of the Rachel Roy vs Jones Investment Co. Inc lawsuit has come in, and the designer is the contender.

In April we reported on the 40-year-old taking her former owners to court after they sold their stake in her company to Bluestar Alliance for $14.6 million. In her suit she claimed that the sale was done without her consent and gave her limited control over her eponymous line.

Monday morning the New York State Supreme Court granted Roy a preliminary injunction barring The Jones Group from proceeding with the aforementioned sale of her business. “I am pleased with today’s ruling and that the court has recognized my rights to creative control and approval over the designs and licenses for my brand,” Roy said. “I have worked hard to develop the Rachel Roy brand, and my team and I are eager to continue our focus on design, development and production.”

But she’s not the only one who’s been working hard, allegedly. After a pretty tumultuous week in the press, Roy’s ex-husband Damon Dash stepped up and supported her for the case. On Instagram he said:

Me and @rachel_roy did some helified s**t today…I don’t know how they will try to spin it in the paper…but we basically kicked corporate in the a**…I’m so proud of her for fighting for her company…all i know is she has been a gangster where I have seen most men completely punk out and she is a great mother…all the other bullls**t is irrelevant…now that she’s fighting corporate, her integrity is being questioned…don’t let the media fool you…pay attention to what counts…she is a woman of color that is fighting for her company and what she believes in…and doing it with class…im her biggest fan for that…anything else is ignorant… And shows complete insecurity for lack of what you have accomplished….

And later he noted:

We are not afraid of corporate and the rest of the culture doesn’t have to be either…they cheat…and act tough but they are nerds…we are fighting a billion dollar public company and basically kicking there a** just like I said we would…I bet the daily news or ny post won’t write about this… A woman of color that’ fights for what she believes in and winning…I’m proud of @rachel_roy She is a role model to men and woman on strength and courage we all should be…and whoever corporate has done me wrong is next #dontbescared the truth will always prevail in front of a judge… The jones group and sycamore should be ashamed of themselves for picking on a woman. Richard Dixon and Ira m Dansky are not gentleman…how come your not so tough now?…#nerds

Dash was an initial investor to Roy’s company in 2005 and has supported her through the years despite their 2009 divorce. In regards to the Jay Z cheting rumors, both parties haven’t responded but it’s safe to say the former couple are not thinking too much about that right now.

Roy is currently promoted her Rachel Rachel Roy contemporary collection sold at Macy’s and her capsule One King’s Lane towel line.
