Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff Hosts Annual Bastille Day Luncheon

Philanthropist, TV Host, and author Jean Shafiroff hosted her Annual Bastille Day Luncheon at Michael’s Restaurant New York in honor of the French Heritage Society.

55 distinguished guests enjoyed a specially composed menu in Michael’s private dining room and represented a cross-section of Society, fashion, and media notables.
 
Notable attendees included Jean Shafiroff, Fern Mallis, Valerie Steele, Elizabeth Stribling, NYS Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright, Barbara Tober, Ramona Singer, Bill McCuddy, Christine Schott, George Ledes, David Hochberg, Roy Kean, Lee Fryd, Fernanda Garcia, Marilyn Kirschner, Laurel Marcus, Ernest Schmatola, Maribel Lieberman,  Sylvia Hermingway,  Katlean de Monchy, Lieba Nesis and fashion designers Nabys Vielman, Victor de Souza, Andrew Yu, and Ron Dyson.
 
Making a fashion statement as always, Jean wore a beautiful floral chiffon dress by Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera.
 
Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff has served as a board member of the French Heritage Society since 2012. What Harlem World Magaizne likes about Jean and other philanthropist is that they are strong supporter of the nonprofit organizations, Jean is dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and promotion of French heritage in America and France. In November of 2022, the French Heritage Society honored Jean Shafiroff for her philanthropy at their New York City Gala.
 
The French national holiday, Bastille Day, commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison, marking the beginning of the French Revolution, which took place on July 14, 1789. The Bastille prison was a symbol of the absolute and arbitrary power of Louis XVI’s Regime. By capturing this symbol, the people signaled that the king’s authority should be limited by a separation of powers.

Jean Shafiroff is a philanthropist, humanitarian, TV host, writer, and the author of the book “Successful Philanthropy: How to Make a Life By What You Give”. Jean works extensively as a volunteer fundraiser and leader in the philanthropic world. She serves on the boards of 8 charitable organizations and each year chairs upwards of eight to 9 different charity galas. Among the many causes she champions are those involved in women’s rights, rights of the underserved, health care, and animal welfare.
 
Jean serves on the boards of the American Humane, Southampton Hospital Association, NYC Mission Society, French Heritage Society, Couture Council of the Museum at FIT, Global Strays, New York Women’s Foundation, Casita Maria, and Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation Honorary Board. A Catholic, she served on the board of the Jewish Board for 28 years and now is one of their honorary trustees. Jean Shafiroff has been honored numerous times by a variety of charitable organizations for her work. Jean Shafiroff is among the leading ladies of the philanthropy world, both nationally and internationally. Jean Shafiroff is an influencer and has over 1.2m Instagram followers.
