Harlem’s Abyssinian Baptist Church Cut From $3.1M

Abyssinian Development Corp., the sprawling housing and social service arm of Harlem’s most influential black church, was cut off from $3.1 million in city contracts two weeks ago after it failed to submit three years of overdue tax filings and independent audits to the Mayor’s Office of Contract Services, the Daily News has learned.

Owner Of Landmarked Astor Harlem Home Sued

In a rare move the Landmarks Preservation Commission has filed a lawsuit against the owner of a three-story, red-brick Victorian-style front wooden porches house in Central Harlem’s Astor Row, asking a judge to fine her $5,000 a day until she makes repairs to the dilapidated 133-year-old house.
