New York City’s STEM Education Network, an alliance of over 100 STEM education organizations across the city.

Is gearing up for an exciting event that will showcase the brilliance and creativity of young minds. Teaming up with ExpandED Schools and Community School District 4, the network is proud to present the Summer Rising STEAM Fair in Harlem, a celebration of student projects in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).

Scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 3, starting at 9:00 AM, the fair will unfold at PS/MS 007 Samuel Stern School, located at 160 E 120th Street in New York, NY 10035. The event aims to foster new partnerships between schools, afterschool programs, and STEM service providers, further enriching the learning experiences of students.

The fair will be a vibrant platform where approximately 150 students from Community School District 4 will proudly present their Summer Rising STEAM projects. Through engaging presentations and hands-on activities, these talented young learners will share their remarkable achievements, showcasing their ingenuity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Expected to grace the event are local elected officials, STEM education providers, dedicated school administrators, and teachers, who will join forces to support and celebrate the young innovators. For Spanish speakers, dedicated personnel will be available for interviews, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder participation and engagement.

The NYC STEM Education Network, together with its diverse coalition of city agencies, schools, afterschool programs, youth-serving organizations, museums, cultural institutions, universities, public and private funders, and intermediaries, works diligently to broaden and sustain STEM learning opportunities across all age groups in the city. By catalyzing innovative ideas and collaborative projects, the network equips learners with essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, and communication, paving the way for STEM-literate citizens prepared for successful careers.

ExpandED Schools, a prominent NYC-based nonprofit, shares the mission of empowering young people with enriching afterschool programs that nurture their identities, impart valuable skills, and ignite new possibilities in and out of the school day.
