We always love the discovery of Harlem’s rich history. Here’s a vintage photograph of the Metropolitan Hook and Ladder Company No. 14, on the dirt 125th street, between Third and Fourth Avenues in Harlem, New York, 1867.
Quite an amazing albumen photograph (the first commercial method of producing a photograph), of the constructed in stone the Company No. 14, with all the buildings surrounding it constructed decades before made of wood.
