September 26, 2018

With a determination to bring the best-tasting produce to consumers, Kalir Farms (six hours from Harlem) has been our number 1 for the past 7 years in bringing you the best apples, squash and other fruits fresh from Upstate in Brockport, New York!

Kalir Farms is a first-generation farm that got its start in the town of Sweden, New York 350 miles northwest of New York City and 67 miles west of Niagara Falls. The farm was founded by Oded Kalir in 1992 where the ideal weather and fertile soil made it a canvas for a wide range of farming possibilities.

Why Upstate New York?

They don’t call it “Apple Country” for nothing! As the official state fruit since 1976, apples thrive in the New York seasons. The warm spring-summer-fall are perfect for successfully producing an array of fruits and vegetables including winter squash, peaches, cherries, small fruits, but apples do best because of the cold in winter, moderate summer, and medium to high humidity.

The Kafir Difference

Kalir Farms takes special care to select and grow specific varieties of apples where the exceptional flavor is the focus. With a steadfast commitment to the genuine quality of the produce and the precise farming practices used to create it, Kalir has become a large-scale farm with 460 acres to grow whatever his customers love best.

Oodles Of Apples

Varieties include McIntosh, Ginger Gold, Zestar!, Empire, Red Delicious, Cortland, Gala, Jonagold, Jonamac, Fuji, Macoun, the famous Golden Delicious, and the farmers favorite – Honeycrisp! The best part about all these varieties is the wide range of flavors and uses!
