MBP Brewer Welcomes Students And Parents Back To School With Help Guides In Harlem

September 12, 2021

Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer is welcoming students and parents back to in-person learning by distributing helpful bilingual resource guides on the first day of school. Brewer will personally distribute the guides on Monday, September 13 from 8 – 9 AM at Talented and Gifted Young Scholars (TAG) School, 240 East 109th Street in East Harlem while staff and volunteers from her office will provide the guides at other districts in the borough of Manhattan.

The resource guides are intended to familiarize students and parents with their local district Superintendents, Family Support Coordinators, and Community Education Councils.

“When it comes to addressing a problem at your child’s school or broader education issues, you may not always know where to turn,” said Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer. “That’s why my staff and I prepared a quick guide to give parents a starting point for navigating the NYC Department of Education.”
