HARLEM WEEK is a series of Harlem events throughout the summer, that bring together all age groups and cultures to celebrate the unique and diverse essence of Harlem.This Harlem Festival & Celebration offers over 100 events throughout the months of July and August, attracting over 2 million attendees from all around the world to Harlem New York. Featuring: Outdoor and indoor music concerts, The Upper Manhattan Auto Show, Film festivals, Health Fair & 5K, Sporting events, Adult and children’s fashion shows, Youth programs and activities, Career fairs, HBCU Fair & Expo.

“A GREAT DAY IN HARLEM”

With an expected attendance of 40,000, “A Great Day in Harlem” is a day long family oriented event.  Participants can enjoy an Outdoor Festival, Picnic, Fashion Show and Concerts, saluting Gospel, Dance, Theater, Latin, Rhythm & Blues and Jazz.  There will also be arts & crafts, food from around the world, vendors, exhibitions, corporate exhibits, career recruitment and much more!  Check out all of the “Great Day in Harlem” events below:

INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL SHOWCASE

Featuring Performances from Dance Companies, youth organizations, theatre companies and more.

“SUMMER IN THE CITY”

Over 60,000 attendees will enjoy an outdoor R&B, Rock and Hip Hop concert, featuring regional dance events,  College “Step Show” Competitions and an outdoor film festival.  There will also be exhibitors and vendors providing delicious foods, creative arts & crafts, clothing and much more.  Checkout all of the “Summer in the City” events listed below:

NYC “CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL” (DAY I)

Over 10,000 children between ages 5 to 12 years of age and family members attend to enjoy storytelling, children’s entertainment (daily performances showcasing tap dancers, dance troupes, step shows, hip hop dancers, theater, poetry and vocalists), arts & crafts, double dutch competitions, face painting, technology, health services, super heroes, dance lessons and sporting events.

“HARLEM HONEYS & BEARS”

Senior citizens as well as the entire family, enjoy swimming and exercises demonstrations.

HIGHER EDUCATION FAIR & EXPO

The Annual Higher Education Fair & Expo will take place during “Summer in the City” and offers information on financial aid and college tours  for colleges and universities throughout NYC and and the U.S. with special emphasis on  HBCUs with over 50 represented at the fair.  More than 15,000 students, parents, alumni and recruiters attend from around the Greater New York metropolitan area to gather information on college admission, scholarships and grants.

“HARLEM DAY”

Over 90,000 attendees will enjoy four outdoor stages of live entertainment, featuring “The International Roots of Jazz”: Reggae, Latin, Soca, Gospel, R&B, Hip-Hop, Rock, Blues and Calypso.  There will also be exhibitors and vendors providing delicious foods, creative arts & crafts, clothing and much more.  See below for all “Harlem Day” events scheduled:

UPPER MANHATTAN AUTO SHOW

The Upper Manhattan Auto Show is an exhibition of some of the most unique, collectible, vintage and new vehicles throughout the region.  Awards will be presented in select categories.  Look out for the Auto Parade Through Historic Harlem!  The “Sunday Caravan of Stars” will begin at the “Duke” Ellington monument at 9:00 am.

THE NY CITY HEALTH VILLAGE

“The Village within Our Village” features exhibits from hospitals, health centers, health service providers, doctors, holistic practitioners, acupuncturists, dentists and others.  Free health testing is provided on site as well as information on health plans, health insurance, nutrition, holistic medicine, exercise, Healthy Eating & Healthy Living.
