On Tuesday, August 27th, Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s colleagues presented a check for over $87,000 and volunteer at God’s Love We Deliver (GLWD) in NY, New York. The donation will support the GLWD family meal program from Harlem to Hollis to cover the cost of 9,000 meals. In addition to the check presentation, Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s colleagues gave their time from 1 pm – 4 pm at the organizations Group Kitchen Prep.
The mission of God’s Love We Deliver is to improve the health and well-being of men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition. They prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals to people who, because of their illness, are unable to provide or prepare meals for themselves. They also provide illness-specific nutrition education and counseling to our clients, families, care providers and other service organizations.
All of their services are provided free to clients without regard to income.
