On the 5th Annual National Jazz Museum in Harlem Benefit Awards and Concert, on Tuesday, June 12th, 2018 in NYC.
This year’s gala raised over $300,000. The museum’s Co-artistic Director Jon Batiste, Latin GRAMMY winner Sheila E., and pianist and multi-GRAMMY-winning artist Arturo O’Farrill and his Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble, all performed together, for the finale.
Chairman of the Harlem Arts Alliance, Voza Rivers, and a pillar of the Harlem music community, pianist and educator Bertha Hope, were both this year’s honorees.
The National Jazz Museum in Harlem is a hub for live performances, exhibitions and educational programs. Each year, the museum produces and presents more than 80 free programs in New York City, engaging hundreds of professional jazz artists and reaching nearly 20,000 people from around the world.
