I don’t know about you, but we love everything little thing about Harlem history, and this little Souvenir card from the Joe Louis’ Restaurant, at 11 west 125th Street, Harlem, New  York, ca 1950’s is fabulous.

One of the greatest heavyweights of all time, who was nicknamed the “Brown Bomber” opened this hot food and bar spot just west of the Apollo Theatre. We can imagine these minimally designed souvenir cards being handed out to patrons entering the establishment on 125th Street.

The piece is in the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Manuscripts, Archives and Rare Books Division collection.
