A unidentified 57-year-old man was found dead in a basement apartment in Inwood in Manhattan on Sunday, police said.
The man’s body was found by a resident of the home on Vermilyea Ave. about 8:45 a.m., cops said.
He was found in a bedroom, wearing a blood-soaked shirt and with a knife in his hand, a police source said.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. The man’s identity was withheld pending family notification, cops said.
