Come enjoy great food and music at Jazz Night at the Fairway Market Café (2127 Broadway) every Wednesday and Saturday from 7 to 9pm starting Wednesday, June 18th. Fairway has joined with the Jazz Foundation of America (JFA) to give work to retired Jazz musicians and ‘Save Jazz and Blues One Musician at a Time’. Jazz bands Bruce Edwards & Leviticus Gory and the Alvin Flythe Trio start off Fairway’s Jazz night on Wednesday, June 18th and Saturday, June 21st, respectively. Performances will go through the summer with final Jazz Night on Saturday, August 30, 2014.
For 25 years, the Jazz Foundation of America has been keeping jazz and blues alive by helping the musicians who played with everyone from Duke Ellington and Billie Holiday to Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones, providing housing assistance, health care, gigs and emergency financial support in times of crisis
