Everyone has a bedroom, but not everyone considers how to make it comfortable.
This is unfortunate because bedroom design can have a huge impact on your sleep and overall well-being. If you’re struggling with how to redesign your bedroom in order to make it more comfortable, this article will provide some great tips that I’m sure you’ll find very helpful!
Rearrange furniture and bedroom decor
The first step to redesigning your bedroom is rearranging the furniture and bedroom decor. By rearranging furniture in the bedroom you want to make sure that you have enough space for everything, but also that every item has its proper place so it’s easy to find when needed. Some people like moving their furniture around regularly, others prefer not changing things up too much. Either way, keep these tips in mind:
- Ensure all bed legs are sturdy and on a level surface (no one wants a wobbly bed!).
- Place heavy items away from where you sleep because they may cause discomfort if pushed onto your body while sleeping or lying down.
- Keep nightstands at least 18 inches from the bed – this will ensure you’ll have enough room to get in and out of bed without hitting your nightstand.
- If you have a bedroom closet, make sure the door is open before going to sleep so there’s no chance of being trapped inside.
Replace your mattress with a new one
If you have an old, worn-out mattress that no longer provides adequate support or has lost some of its comfortability, now is the time to replace it with a new one. There are so many different types of mattresses out there on today’s market – memory foam, latex foam, hybrid – and they all provide unique benefits.
You can purchase your bedroom decor online these days as well if you’d like to easily compare prices for what you’re looking for without having to head out into public.
Remove any clutter from the room and keep it clean
Finally, the bedroom is a place to relax and recharge. Clutter can be distracting, so it’s best to remove any items from your bedroom that you don’t really need or have been meaning to sort through for months on end. You should also keep your bedroom as clean as possible – this will help you feel relaxed when entering the bedroom at night instead of stressed out over all the mess!
Add some greenery in the room for fresh air and natural light
If you have a bedroom that doesn’t get much natural light, consider adding some plants or fresh flowers to the room. Not only will this give your bedroom an extra bit of life and color, but it’ll also introduce more oxygen into the air which can help improve sleep quality while providing a nice scent as well!
Make sure that your bed is in a comfortable position
Not too high or low, not too close to the wall or far away from it, but in an optimal spot where you can easily reach everything around when sitting up on your bed.
- Make sure that there’s enough space around your bedroom to walk or sit (use a measuring tape).
- Sit on the bed and make note of any areas where it feels like too much weight is being placed – this means you may need to use another mattress, change the box spring for something with more support, etc. If you’re not comfortable sitting up in bed because of how high or low it is located relative to the floor, then perhaps changing its position would be beneficial as well!
- Keep nightstands at least 18 inches from the bed – this will ensure you’ll have enough room to get in and out of bed without hitting your nightstand.
Doing these three things should help improve comfortability.
Place your desk near the window so you can enjoy sunlight during work hours
If you work from home or plan to in the future for your bedroom redesign, make sure that there’s a desk near the window so you can enjoy natural light during work hours. There are also some beautiful floor lamps with dimmer lights available if you’d like more control over how much light is being emitted into the room while working on your laptop.
And there you go – these are just a few tips on how to redesign your bedroom in order to make it more comfortable for yourself! I hope everyone found this post helpful and if you did please share with others who might need information about bedroom design. Remember: bedrooms should be relaxing spaces where we feel at ease when going back home from work every day. Make yours look its best by following my advice above!
