Harlem’s Maysles Documentary Center Albie Award Dinner Honoring Abigail Disney

September 19, 2018

Join the Maysles Documentary Center in Harlem for the inaugural Albie Awards, an evening at the Century Association on Thursday, September 26, 2018, to celebrate what we love about legendary filmmaker Al Maysles.

Maysles will be honored for the indomitable, indelible and often unabashedly, and gorgeously, peculiar human spirit.

In the spirit and tradition of Albert Maysles, the Albie celebrates an individual’s contribution to the advancement of nonfiction filmmaking through the support of other filmmakers and the creation of unique works that promote a better understanding of the human condition and encourage compassion and help heal the chasm between races and classes.

This year, we are thrilled to present the 2018 Albie Award to Abigail Disney, whose work furthers social justice through non-fiction narrative. We look forward to hosting you for a night of toasts, colleagues and celebration, all designed in honor of our founder, Albert Maysles.
