On, April 4th, 2017, Melissa Mark-Viverito was at the kick off for the opening of the East Harlem Neighborhood Health Action Center, located at 158 East 115th Street, Harlem, New York. Other speakers included Dr. Hermina Palacio, Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services, Dr. Mary T. Basset, New York City Health Commissioner, and more.
The Center will offer health services such as medical care, maternal care, and HIV/AIDS services. There is also a mobile dental clinic. The building was previously unoccupied until the City injected funds to open the Center, a welcome necessity for the neighborhood.
