Harlem Seniors Join Food Bank For New York City To Celebrate Senior Centers

October 23, 2017

On Thursday, October 26th, local seniors will join Food Bank For New York City at its Community Kitchen & Pantry in Harlem to celebrate the Senior Center’s fifth anniversary, with a hors d’oeuvres, karaoke and a dance competition. Over the last five years, the Center has grown into a tight-knit community and provides vital support for nearby residents over the age of 60.

The Senior Center, founded in 2012, provides hot sit-down breakfasts and dinners on weekdays and take-home meals for the weekend, using recipes that take into account health conditions common among seniors. The Center also offers a variety of additional services, including benefits assistance, wellness workshops, daily recreational activities, and fitness classes, like yoga and zumba.
