Harlem Men Juelz Santana And Dave East Capture The Essence Of Harlem (Video)

March 14, 2017

Earlier today, Love and Hip Hop New Yorks Juelz Santana and rapper Dave East released the visuals for their latest hit, “Time Ticking.” The Harlem hip hop stars teamed up with incarcerated rappers Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel (per a recorded phone call) for the Jahlil Beats-produced track, which dropped back in December. The duo also recruited director Kid Art for the visuals, which were mainly shot outside of Morningside Heights on the corner of 116th and Fredrick Douglas and a neighborhood bodega. According to East, the goal for him and Juelz was to capture “the essence of Harlem,” with their video and trust us- they definitely did that!

Along with fellow Harlem it-girl Teyana Taylor, Dave East also stars in VH1’s hit show The Breaks, as “Hashim.” When asked about his excitement on joining the cast, he replied:

“That’s what I grew up on. That’s what made me fall in love with Hip Hop. That [90’s] era.”

Be sure to check out the video below:
