NY Post reports that a 30-year-old man was knifed to death at a party early Sunday after getting into a fight over a dance contest, police said.
Julian Washington, of Harlem, had a dispute with his attacker’s sister over the step contest on the 15th floor of 645 Westchester Ave. in Woodstock just after midnight, the sources said.
Washington was stabbed in the neck and upper body and rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where he died.
Vernon Hubbard, 35, fled but was arrested outside when an eyewitnesses identified him.
“He saved my life because he pushed me out of the way and when I turned around blood was gushing from his neck,” Tawana Vargas said of her friend.
“I tried to stop the bleeding with my shirt. It’s so senseless.”
Hubbard was charged with murder, manslaughter and possession of a weapon.
