Food Packaging Event For Dr. Martin Luther King Day With JCC Harlem And Others In Harlem

January 20, 2019

JCC Harlem, Repair the World NYC, and UJA Federation Time for Good host over 200 volunteers who are assembling shelf stable food packets for the Community Kitchen & Food Pantry of West Harlem’s supermarket-style food pantry for clients to bring home and cook. An initiative of the Food Bank for New York City, the Community Kitchen & Food Pantry of West Harlem has been offering direct food service to New Yorkers in need since 1984.

All packets are in environmentally-friendly packaging and utilize high quality, bulk food. The event is the culmination of the groups’ MLK Week 2019, which include a dozen volunteerism and educational events for the community.
