It’s hard to imagine now, but winter is coming — and it’s going to be a tough one.
Harlemites will be wishing for these dog days of summer in a few months, when a “teeth-chattering winter” freezes up the Northeast, according to a new forecast from The Farmer’s Almanac.
“We’re calling it the return of the old-fashioned winter. The ice-cold winter is back,” Sandi Duncan, the almanac’s managing editor, said in a statement.
And the cold temps will be paired with ample snow, particularly in mid-February.
This is the 200th edition of The Farmer’s Almanac, which publishes long-range weather predictions based on a “secret” formula many meteorologists criticize for being inaccurate.
The Almanac claims that it has an 80-percent accuracy rate.
But last year’s predictions were way off due to the El Nino that sent the mercury skyrocketing — leading to the warmest winter ever as well as a record-breaking heat streak around Christmas in the Big Apple.
