Columbia University Open Arms To Upper Manhattanites To Apply For A’Lelia Bundles Community Scholars Cohort

February 25, 2022

Columbia University invites members of the Upper Manhattan community to apply to join the 10th cohort of A’Lelia Bundles Community Scholars.

For a three-year period, Bundles Scholars are given access to academic resources, including libraries, course auditing, and campus events.

They also receive a Columbia email address, an ID card, and an annual stipend of $500. Scholars have opportunities to share their work and build relationships across the University.

Past scholars have worked on a wide variety of projects, including developing nonprofits, writing books, and conducting research in their area of interest.

Up to five scholars are selected each year and projects with a community connection are greatly encouraged.

Bundles Scholars are required to have a high school diploma, GED/TASC, or equivalent experience, and must live in Manhattan north of 96th Street.

A virtual information session will be held on March 9, 2022.

Register now for the opportunity to ask questions of program staff and learn more about the application process and being a Bundles Scholar.

Applications are due April 29, 2022.
