Alvin Ailey Featured In PBS Arts Fall Festival National TV Broadcast

Alvin+Ailey+American+Dance+Theater 1Viewers from Harlem to Hollywood will have the opportunity to see one of the world’s most beloved dance companies when PBS Arts Fall Festival broadcasts Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater nationally on Friday, November 4 at 9:00pm EST (check your local listings). Ailey’s range, diversity, and artistry, are showcased in this episode, part of the Lincoln Center at the Movies series, which culminates in a performance of Alvin Ailey’s must-see American masterpiece, Revelations. Audiences will also get to see special performances of three other dynamic works: Chroma by Wayne McGregor, Grace by Ronald K. Brown, and Takademe by Ailey’s Artistic Director Robert Battle. In addition to the moving onstage performances, the special incorporates behind-the-scenes footage, as well as interviews with Ailey dancers and artistic leaders. 

After experiencing the magic of Ailey on the small screen, audiences will not want to miss seeing Ailey’s 32 extraordinary dancers perform in premieres live onstage during the 2016-2017 season, which launches with a holiday season at New York City Center from November 30 – December 31 and continues with a 2017 19-city North American Tour from February 3 – May 14.
