National Black Theatre (NBT) is kicking off its 48th Season on Wednesday, September 7, with “The Alchemy of Black Joy.” This Dramaturgical Lobby Exhibition features a photo exhibit by Peter Cooper that celebrates the many shades, textures and representations of joy found in the Black community. The exhibition will also include excerpts of poetry by Marc Bamuthi Joseph and an interactive art installation created by Sade Lythcott.
Limited edition commemorative t-shirts will be available for sale all season long.
The exhibition will be on display to the public from September 8th to October 14th during NBT’s normal business hours. Group tours can be arranged by calling in advance.
