Join New York Cares, and West Side Campaign Against Hunger, for a special food-packing initiative during our inaugural Extra Day of Care event.
On Thursday, February 29th, 204, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, volunteers will gather at the West Side Campaign Against Hunger’s location at 549 W. 180th Street and Audubon Avenue (30 minutes from Harlem) in Manhattan to organize food for distribution to individuals and families in need.
This Extra Day of Care isn’t just about one project. New York Cares will mobilize over 40 volunteer projects across NYC, reaching hundreds of individuals in need. Whether it’s feeding the hungry, supporting seniors, educating youth, providing tax assistance, or promoting health and wellness, there’s a way for everyone to make a difference.
Sapreet K. Saluja, Executive Director of New York Cares, and Gregory Silverman, CEO of the West Side Campaign Against Hunger, will be available for media interviews.
With the launch of our new brand coinciding with Leap Year, we’re taking advantage of the “extra day” to encourage New Yorkers to give back to their communities. Instead of letting February 29th pass as just another day, let’s use it to spread positivity. New York Cares invites all to participate in this Extra Day of Care by volunteering, performing acts of kindness, or simply making our city a better place in any way they can.
