On Sunday, September 17th, 2023, photojournalist Seitu Oronde was on 7th Avenue with thousands in Harlem, for the 54th Annual African American Day Parade and After Celebration.
The events were attended by Ingrid Lewis-Martin, Chief Advisor to the Mayor, Mayor Eric Adams, Adrienne Eadie Adams, Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark, Virginia C. Fields, Hazel Dukes, George Hulse, Senator Robert Jackson, Reverend Jacques DeGraff with Cannan Baptist Church, Assembly person Inez Dickens, former congressman Charlie Rangel and many more.
“It spreads the joy in my heart,” said a parade-goer.
