Permits originally filed for 217 East 119th Street in East Harlem have been scrapped for a larger residential structure with both a new developer and design architect. Located on a vacant, interior lot between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, the eight-story building will contain over 28,000 square feet of residential area and a total of 45 units.
At just over 620 square feet apiece, rental units are most likely upon completion.
As reported by Sebastian Morris for YIMBY, previous permits called fora mixed-use building containing 32 residential units spread over 26,000 square feet. A 3000-square-foot community facility would occupy the building’s basement level.
Raymond Chan Architect has overseen design of the current, residential-only building with David Tong listed as property owner d.b.a. B & D East 119 St. Realty LLC.
