Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) announces applications are now open for the 2024 Manhattan Arts Grants supporting arts projects across Manhattan.
LMCC’s Manhattan Arts Grants celebrate the importance of the arts to a resilient New York City and contribute to the sustainability of our diverse communities that call Manhattan home. In 2023, LMCC awarded over $1.7 million in support of 340 projects across the borough by individual artists, groups, and organizations.
This year, LMCC continues to offer an accessible, streamlined application process for Manhattan-based artists and organizations for their public-facing arts programming in 2024. With funds provided by New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone and the Howard Gilman Foundation, Manhattan Arts Grants offer access to four sources of funding through one single application form with grants between $4,000 and $16,000. It is a great year to apply!
The application deadline is Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 5 pm EST.
The maximum grant is $16,000, and projects must take place in Manhattan in 2024.
LMCC staff will be hosting information sessions this summer to offer an overview of the grant programs and recommendations for preparing a strong application. Information sessions are offered in English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.

I am a self-taught artist who has a dream to own an art studio and rent to smaller artists so their art can be shown and possibly bought. I am also a graphic designer I work with logos, and a website design. Art is my dream and I haven’t given up on it and I feel like this opportunity is just what I need to take up.
I am an artist 🎨, I make paintings of mainly landscapes. I live in west Texas and was wondering if I would be considered if I applied.?
