Here is a great two sided, blue ink on white paper handbill from the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, in 1953.
The front side of the handbill shows The Great Morton The Worlds Greatest Hypnotist, with Tito Puente, La Vern Baker, The Edwards Sisters, an announcement of Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater and an acknowledgement at the bottom from superstar Lena Horne on June 12 – 18, 1953 in Harlem.
The back side of the handbill has talent Pearl Bailey, Louis Bellson, 3 Rockets, Dusty Fletcher – June 19 – 25, Dinah Washington, Cootie Williams, The Vocalairs – June 26 – July2 and Ruth Brown, The Crickets, and on July 3 – 9, 1953, what a show.
