Since 1972, women-owned businesses have gone from 402,000 to 12.3 million, however, they still only represent 4.6% of all firms according to the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. Arguably there is room for improvement. Dr. Solanges Vivens
is determined to share her rules to increase the number of female entrepreneurs:

Growing up on the economically challenged island of Haiti, Vivens was driven to improve her place in life. As a child, she knew she would have to make big changes to overcome a life of poverty. In her new book, Girls Can Move Mountains: Rewriting the Rules of Female Entrepreneurship
, she shares how she made a new life for herself in America by rewriting the rules of success. As a Black woman in a new country, Vivens faced many difficulties, but her unwillingness to give up allowed her to rise to the top.
With her accomplishments in life as a nursing home director/owner and mother, she has accumulated plenty of wisdom to share with women of all ages. In her guidebook, Vivens inspires a new generation of female entrepreneurs. Her story proves that, no matter how hard life seems, there is always another road that leads to success!
