Before the Gristedes (with an ‘s’) offices were located downtown on 42nd Street, Gristede Bros., Inc., Grocers was in East Harlem at 1885 Park Avenue at 128th and 129th Streets.
In the photograph above here were taken in 1921, by A Wurtz. In the image above the Gristede staff stand facing West with their backs to the three-story office building.
