At this year’s 23rd Annual Champion Awards, Safe Horizon honors 40 years of helping New Yorkers in their times of greatest need. In 1978, Safe Horizon began as a pilot program in New York City’s court system to assist witnesses who had been intimidated, or who felt too threatened to testify. Today, they are are the nation’s largest victim services organization, each year touching the lives of more than 250,000 people. The Champion Awards is an opportunity to highlight Safe Horizon’s achievements, raise critically needed funds, and honor individuals who are making a difference for so many of our most vulnerable neighbors. Terry Crews comes to BUILD to speak on this year’s Safe Horizon Champion Awards Gala.
