Sony Partners in REVOLT TV’s HELLO Harlem Initiative

hello harlem diddyToday, REVOLT TV announced an exciting new partnership with the U.S. division of Sony Music Masterworks. The multi-genre label group, home to a diverse roster of artists, has joined HELLO Harlem as a music partner. Through the music partnership, Sony Music Masterworks will provide artists to perform at select summer series events in Harlem and upper Manhattan, ultimately joining REVOLT in their mission to promote the arts and music programming among young adults. Artists will include Theo Crocker, Somi, Liam Bailey and performers from its Masterworks Broadway soundtracks.

“HELLO Harlem is a positive platform for showcasing our artists while driving attention to the importance of organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem. We are happy to have our talent involved in this series, from the beginning, and to join forces with REVOLT in making a genuine difference in a community that matters to us,” says Angela Barkan, VP media & artist development, Sony Music Masterworks U.S.

Since its inception, HELLO Harlem has made its mission to be more than just another fundraising campaign. Not only have they made strides to raise awareness and support for the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem, they are doing the same for fresh, rising musical talent who can potentially change the landscape of music and entertainment. The 10-event summer series is happening in partnership with Harlem Park to Park, an organization that represents 75+ businesses in Harlem.

THEO CROCKER @ The Corner Social | 07/21
Trumpeter, vocalist and composer, Theo Croker is a bold young soul-jazz newcomer who pays respect to the tradition of jazz while moving it forward. The grandson of New Orleans legend Doc Cheatham, Croker’s music is fortified by tradition with no lack of contemporary electricity. His new album “AfroPhysicist,” produced by Dee Dee Bridgewater, is available now. Croker is currently on tour on his own, and with Bridgewater, throughout 2014 including an appearance at the Newport Jazz Festival on August 1st 2014.

Liam Bailey is a British singer who is taking soul and rock to new levels. Originally discovered and signed by the late Amy Winehouse, Bailey’s debut album “Definitely NOW” is available on August 19th.  The album is co-written and produced by Bailey, and executive produced by Flying Buddha label head Salaam Remi.
