The 5th Annual People’s Film Festival will kick off June 1, 2016 with a SPECIAL free PRE-FESTIVAL EVENT at Hoodwinked Escape, Harlem’s very own escape room.
The tradition of storytelling which also includes, music and poetry, dates back as far as the history of mankind. Although some may say that storytelling has become a lost art—today however, through technology, The Art of Storytelling has taken on many forms, i.e. digital art, multimedia, gaming and virtual reality which artificially creates sensory experience, which can include sight, touch, hearing, and smell. Film which is described as a blend of photographic, narrative, pictorial, performing, and audiovisual art forms has broaden its scope and storytelling platforms are now developed for mobile phones, tablets and other devices. Our panelists will delve into today’s new media and explore how various elements (past and present) are used to tell their story.
