NY Daily News reports that a woman was shot in the leg during a fight outside a storied Harlem funeral home Friday, authorities said.
The 34-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to her right leg outside Unity Funeral Chapels on Frederick Douglass Blvd. near W. 127th St. at 8:12 p.m., police said.
“It was a busy funeral. Then before you know it, royal rumble,” said one neighbor who declined to give his name.
Witnesses told the Daily News that the victim was standing in the middle of a brawl between several mourners.
“There was a crowd. Physically fighting, maybe like 15-20 people. The funeral turned into a disaster,” the neighbor said. “It was scary.”
The woman was taken to Harlem Hospital where she is in stable condition, police said.
