Our 20th Anniversary party is a celebration of our love for “the greatest community in the world” – Harlem.

This includes our community of subscribers, contributors, partners, and others who are at the center of the celebration.

Harlem World Magazine (HWM) will kick off our 20th Anniversary on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 6 – 8:30 pm EST. The event will be focused on #HarlemCommunitylove thanking all our Harlem World Magazine family members.

The party vibe will be chill but fun, with a curated eclectic mix of giveaways, art, music, food, and cocktails for attendees. 

The Harlem World Magazine Summit, organized by our event guru Kay Lucas in 2020, is the starting point for the Harlem World Magazine’s 20th Anniversary Party.

As we go back to our roots of building community, we look forward to Community Love.

  • Red Carpet and HWM Gift bags with HWM Photographers
  • “Harlem History” Giveaway with Glenn Hunter, Harlem Cultural Archives

6:30-7:30 pm – Dinner

  • Excellence in Journalism Award & Scholarship presented by Nelson Gillum, LVM, and NYABJ the Charles Tisdale Award.
  • Official Launch of our new HWM Store premium merch spot
  • The Launch and fundraiser for Harlem World Cares on Go Fund Me.
  • Harlem Writers Guild Reads from Maya Angelou hosted by Eartha Watts Hicks

7 pm – “Microphone Memories” hosted by Eartha Watts-Hicks, Harlem Writers Guild

  • Guests tell “Harlem stories”
  • HWM Store Art Print Giveaway with Gwendolyn Black

Harlem Summer Visitors Guide (Print)

Harlem Summer Visitors Guide Print (June – August 2023) is a visitor guide that will be distributed throughout the festival and the summer art, travel, politics, etc., as a directory, features, categories, and more, with “the best” (5,000 copies, 8 x 4 in, 8 pages, 80 lb., semi-glossy stock, color, and b/w).

An HWM photographer and writer will document the event in a post-event editorial piece.
